“This was one of those matches which you look at, and think "what utter bs". Dice can be mean.
First turn, hurray for multiple rerolls, because there were 2 double skulls in there, and if that wasn't enough, there was a triple skull waiting for when the witch elf did her blitz. After that, it felt like there were a few turns where I was waiting for a 1 to be rolled, and when it was, the Circus scrummed up around the ball and were difficult until we had time to get the ball away and score in turn 8. Didn't protect well enough against the assassin, but AV8+ is anathema to stabs anyway, so Eric got away with hanging out in range.
Second half, we'd already surfed the witch elf to the hospital and although Xerus got fouled off the pitch, the ref didn't like it (unlike the three fouls I'd done in the first half) so Shylock got sent off, Xerus recovered from being dead, and the circus carried on.
We stalled a little too much near the end, could have put the ball away a turn earlier, but Eric wanted glory, and with our constant pow-rolling it didn't matter about any sidestepping blodgers. Jason ran in for the second score and that was about that.
Thanks shook_one for tolerating such an avalanche of crap in the first half. I'd have stepped away from the computer and gone for a scream, myself.”
