BB2020 Game 8 - Black Orcs:

Another game with many woes. Gratefully we didn't have the cas beating we took last match though and I can now say we are nearly healthy and that the team is starting to develop into a more respectable team - at least skill wise. The lack of block is devastating, and I'm highly doubting the idea of taking guard over it because all of the turnovers we'd had, but I also need to work on how to more effectively use guard as a skill. We started on offense and managed a decent cage and started moving the ball upfield. We got to mid-field and stalled a bit, but things didn't seem bad until he managed to blitz his tree onto one of my cage corners. It looked like we had the strength to deal with it, but a failed block by the troll left us in bad shape. A mad scrum ensued, which we may have been able to convert into something, but we ended up missing a handoff roll and gave up a counter score in the process. Second half was a relatively easy score for them up one of our sidelines. We had a chance of setting up a screen, but failed a dodge by a goblin and never really recovered from that. We did end up with a new sneaky git goblin and have gained guard on our troll, which should be helpful.

Tactical Takeaways:
- Be aware of the level of commitment you're going to make to go up against a tree. We were putting 3 or 4 players on it just so we could get pushes against a stand firm. I may need to bring this up in a discord or forum about how to gauge when to commit to stopping a big guy, and other ways to work around it.
- If your score turn is extremely unlikely make sure your opponent doesn't have a straight forward way to counter score in the likely event that your plan fails.
- Make sure you have a score threat in place to at least attempt by turn 7.
