Tactical Takeaways-

1. Black Orcs vs. Tomb Kings

This match up is very tough for Black Orcs because so much of what we do relies on the Black Orcs typically out-strengthing teams and being able to control the scrum. We cannot do that against the guardians. The St 5 every just makes for too many 1D blocks, often without block, and the inability to win engagements. Combined with this the guardians can easily tie up 2, or even 3 Black Orcs if we've committed to get 2D blocks, and now the goblins are undefended from blitzes, which leads to eventual removals. Black Orcs tied up and losing combats, goblins getting blitzed at will. Just ugly.

My only strategy has been to hope for the opponent to 1/9 on blocks, and to hope the opponent just can't pick up the ball. I've based up like we normally do and just gotten destroyed.

I believe that instead you could try to play it more like an agility team - which makes zero sense for Black Orcs. Line up the Troll and 2 Black Orcs on the LOS, and have them spread out. This will force the Guardians to spread out, mostly likely 3 v 3. That means there's only 1 more guardian to roam. We take the rest of our players and make screens trying to protect the goblins. On defense this makes sense. On offense, they can control the LOS, so I'd say the plan is the same 3 on the LOS. Everyone else back. Try to tie up 3 of the guardians, and hope we can cage off somewhere.

Next time I play Tomb Kings I'll give it a try, but in full honesty they are the team I least want to play against. I'll take Dwarves over these guys.

2. 1TTD!

Got the 1TTD this game, and possibly could've had another if I would've went for the throw before the opponent committed his players to the scrum. Just nice to know that one of the fun things about Black Orcs is that we do always have that odd chance of doing some crazy with throw-teammate.
