“After 5 games, it is first win for Undead! And first ever win for this coach after 13 games.
However, the game was brutal and cost us, with the death of two ghouls holding SPP. We no longer have block ghoul, and once again the SPP for team award goes to Zombie. This team seems cursed, but will be good for learning.
Blocking was not good, with 52 blocks taken for 3 casualties. Much stronger Chaos players base many Undead players and take many S4 hits. My opponent coach quickly does time me out, for 'any help he can get'. It did help, and my poor undead nearly had ball sacked.
My learnings:
1) Play for more quickness. Learn the buttons to press so can do quicker to avoid timing out before can protect ball with cage.
2) Know what skill the player has. Chose 'Both Down' but did not see player also had the block.
3) Do not put little strength on corner cage for big strength to easily blitz away.
4) Do not put ball carrier close to corner where blitz can base him.
5) Position better with zombies, to screen ghouls from block (and death)
6) Look closer to see if player is light or dark and can play. Nearly missed a light player and a score down, but my kind opponent tell me scoring most important, which help me see the ball carrier to move.
7) I once again leave my mummy isolated for 1D pows. Must protect better. Lucky he did not also get killed and join his brother.”
