#4 Heinrich the Just – Broken Arm (-PA) #10 Oldar Wulfberg – Dead (RIP)
“This coach was very sick during the game, having drunk too much with the Norse the night before. A good tactic, as the team had hangover in first half, starting T6 with only 8 players. Sobering 2nd half, it is not until T11 we are even on numbers again.
My opponent very kind and patient. I play quick due to illness, there would be no time outs I know. He does an excellent use of pig fouls, isolating edge player and eliminate player on fouls. So we kill pig, but damage is done.
Turn 3 and 4 I lose game with poor position, bad idea basing the norse, and we see a way out with ogre block, but is skulls. Not great idea.
My learnings:
1) tuck ball behind stronger part of front line. Does not always have to be middle
2) do not spread line too thin. Tuck edges for protect, maybe the L, but spread thin means isolate and foul
3) ball protection first. If risk is sack, turnover, touchdown, maybe not good risk?
4) order operations. T7 i should pass first for closer 2++, not move catcher for riskier 3++
My opponent coach is greatest coach I have yet faced. From him I learn:
1) attack edge, own this sideline, compress the other team, foul out isolated players
2) protect ball well with X shape cage, use other free players to push into create space for cage to go
3) be the optimistic, Nuffle does change plans sometimes. Today I see it.
4) make the other team roll the dice. It is more risk of failure.
In the end, I am very lucky. My Ogre do not bone man at all this game (is like having mummy undead again). And all my dices when important required were successful. The coach Padster is a gentleman and a pleasure. My heart is still sore from this game.”
