An early Turn 1 mistake from the humans, blocking with a non-block skill loner lino (poorly positioned on LOS) before securing the ball. This resulted in human casualty. There was reasonable coverage, but the elves pushed deep into our half before we could connect and advance.
Great defence position from the elves was thwarted only by lucky 1DB with blitzer to pow and gain territory, then the coup de grĂ¢ce was a 4+, 4+, 3+, 3+ from the catcher to score. A 41% play that is lucky to succeed.
Then Nuffle takes aim at elves with a wild inaccurate pass, which the humans are able to clear and secure. It is rotten luck, detract from game interest, and my opponent coach deserved better for his play. I understand the early shower in this situation. Good luck for the next.
Learnings:
1) Ball is better protected, but lineman (with loner) is poorly positioned on LOS. Small detail, but big ramifications.
2) Spreading the players is better for options, protections, and to act as decoy.
3) Saving of re-rolls when ball is protected is correct, more so when turn value has been mostly taken (LOS blocks etc.)”
