“A very rough game again for the orcs, with poor position and poor coaching.
It is no shame as my opponent coach is another level, however I was unable to give an interesting game due to poor errors, even with Nuffle helping on the dice.
The withdrawn offence of the elves puts me out of position. I am unsure how to deal with this, however my kind opponent does say I should have been more aggressive. My fear was being outmanoeuvred, but this did happen anyway for easy protection of ball carrier.
On my offence, a played poorly with numbers I had, and did not anticipate to protect my ball carrier. Excellent elf pressure had me caught in back ground, and I was sacked before I could exit the half.
This game I am not sure how to have played. However I do try to learn from it, and my opponent did kindly give me advice.
Learnings:
1) Apply more defensive pressure to the withdrawn offence.
2) Spread a little more the offensive line. An orc stun did not help at a critical point, but it is not an excuse, just a lack of contingency on my part.
3) Protect ball first, and always. A terrible rookie error to allow ball sack in T5 of 2nd half was punished.
Findings:
1) The fouls were perhaps a wise choice, neither rewarded nor penalised.
2) The elves can dodge anywhere without much risk. It could be interesting to try this team once I have a handle on basics of ball protection.
Edit:
The coach SickAsEggs gives great advice, and now I see it from this game: The Malmir coach on T6-7 moves free orcs to other side of pitch. https://fumbbl.com/p/match?id=4515303”
