“A relentless sledgehammer of a game.

We were lucky to receive first, but could not make an impact on numbers. In fact, a KO blitzer failed both opportunities to wake up, and we enter the 2nd half even on numbers.

However... 3 removals on the LOS and the orcs are well on the back foot. A silly order of operations in T2 leaves us exposed, and we find the 1/9. A position we cannot be in when 3 players down.

A gift from Nuffle, where my opponent leaves a Black Orc unmarked, allows a successful blitz. We hide the orc in the corner, and screen off to burn the clock. Last play of game he gets the hit, ball enters crowd, and pops up in favourable position for Norse, who make the 44% play to win.

There is not much we could do. By the end of the game we only had 5 players on the pitch. The Orcs were nearly pitch cleared! A sad state of affairs.

Learnings:

1) We allowed ourselves to be split up too easily. Not good for orcs. Must find better ways to stay connected on offence.

Findings:

1) 2-Turn defensive set up was adequate. Will take this forward again next time.
