“One look at the luck tallies should tell the story here - Haifish could not roll to save his life, especially around the ball, or at the start of his turns, or when rolling a D6, or when rolling a 1die block, or... well, you get the picture. He really deserved the win, or at least not as bad a pummelling. He played well, but Nuffle was against him this day.
However, I am taking Nuffle's benevolence (Oh mighty Nuffle, let it continue and I will sacrifice untold thousands at your altar) as a sign that my decision to gut and rebuild the team was the correct one. Four players skilled up, my winnings, while not great, were higher than they have been in five games, and I finally resurrected Shub-Niggurath after saving up for an aeon or two. Hopefully this is a sign that things are looking up. (Oh great Nuffle, let it be so, and the acolytes of mighty Cthulhu will shatter the Earth in your name)
MVP was Dagon, who I have decided to keep. He may be a bit slow, but at least he shows, and he managed to pull off two Diving Tackles at critical moments. He deserves the nod. Honourable mention goes to He who should not be Named, who got two TDs and became a Veteran.
Haifish was a really good sport about the whole luck thing, and I think he would have beaten me had Nuffle not seen fit to intervene. I would definitely play him again, as he is a good and fun coach.
