NWBL Week 5 -

Squared up with the Karbon Kar Wrecks Dark Elf squad fielding several journeymen for Week 5. Were able to receive the ball and go to work doing our typical gameplan: Hizdoo takes the ball, the Bigs go to work getting guys on the ground, and Yazzy stomps. Big coming out party for Mogg getting 2 early casualties on the Elf squad - including an exposed witch elf. We had a moment where we were able to get one of their key pieces isolated with 4 guys to help for the stomp, but we didn't do our best, and he was able to squirm out of the mob and take down Hizdoo. Luckily, our boy survived and we were able to make our way out of the scrum with the ball. Hizdoo pulled away for the score.

Second half we overcommitted and the Dark Elves were able to reverse the field on us, but it required several players to dodge away from our markers and push a bit further than usual, eventually opening some gaps in their screens as their players went down. They had a solid chance to score, but again at crucial moments the elves couldn't manage to get out of our reach. Hizdoo was able to recover the ball after their carrier stumbled and start working up the sideline, but he was sacked shortly after. A mad dash for the ball ensued and the Bashers were able to hold out through the scramble for a 1-0 victory.

This pulls the Bashers to 3/2/0 as we prepare to take on the Noble Pumpernickels led by their Noble Blitzer, Mr. Buttersmith. Curious to see if we can get that guy down if they manage to get him the ball. We're really hoping that Mogg continues to do as well as he did today and can continue to develop along with the Bigs in general. We know Hizdoo will be scoring, but we need the Bigs to get guys off the field.
