Orcs vs Khorne is a great one for a scrum, and these Khorne came with some Big Block and a Wizard- a scary prospect!
The Orcs had Nuffle on side for this game. Ignoring the ball for much of our defensive drive, we focus on the bash and were lucky on armour breaks to gain numerical advantage. It was a bloody T2, with 4 players removed from pitch (across both teams) by T3.
The Wizard did take out a guard blitzer, however our numbers were still to advantage.
Learnings:
1) Incorrect set up. Pay more attention. Orcs positioned on 2nd row, instead of 3rd row where they could help prevent the frenzy.
2) Incorrect opening blitz! Only 1db. A comedy of errors, fortunately unpunished.
Findings:
1) Immediate ball pressure not always necessary. Create control first, then pressure at correct time. In this case T4-T5 was good.”
