“Ah ha! A most interesting game, and an opportunity for front row seat to observe Coach Spence in action.
This game will get many replays as I see what it is to have the impenetrable defence. The positioning of the Norse was masterful. My dwarves could not make the headway they needed on our offensive drive.
Advices from Coach Spence:
'maximise connections between your pieces. but the biggest thing id say to work on is your offence inflection points - be aware of critical distance (whether rank of ball carrier minus scoring distance is equal or less to turns remaining for drive)'
I am aware, a little (but not enough), but what do to about it, I shall ponder on. How to skin this cat with the Dwarf, against the Legend?
More advices:
'1 rank per turn is easy to advance. 2 is much harder so its an inflection point where equity shifts a lot. if you're outside critical distance you'll need to push harder earlier'
I must work on identification of inflection points. There will be none from the Dwarves this game!
The learnings are not yet there from this game, but will come from working on them. Therefore I have these...
Work Ons:
1. Maximise connections between pieces. I have heard the Coach Jackass talk of this. XX--XX--XX style? I ponder
2. Identify the inflection points.
3. Attacking the inflection points. I had difficulty in this against SickAsEggs Orcs (S4)
Thank you Coach Spence for the game, and advices!
Goal achieved: no turns under 4min.”
