The debut for this coach against an Ogre team. I did not know what to expect, but of course I knew it to be a tough match against the masterful Coach SideshowBob.
First block of the game... DEATH! The Ogre made dwarf jam. Adversity.
We see the drop ball on pick off, so we press hard, thinking we are Skavens. We used our pieces for pinning, but my mistake was using our runner (dwarf jam) and troll slayer (slayer jam).
The pressure is good, and we have players in the right places at the right time. We managed to keep some equity in game, and convert to a score.
2nd half is hide and seek. The coward coach I am, I can see no way through with little numbers and little legs. Favourable kick off event we use to delay the pursuit.
Learnings:
1) It is correct to apply pressure on defence. There is no out-bashing this team.
2) Hitting snots does help, but they are not the 'free spp' they are made out to be. And they are too numerous to make lasting damage, only drive based advantage.
Ogres. Stunties. Respekt.”
