We played a vamp team that we really had no business playing against. TV was close, but a good example of how a team can be built to take advantage of TV values. The 4 Vamps were juiced up to the gills, and we realistically didn't have a way to deal with them.
2. Gaze
The gaze play by the opponent was very strong, and I was not able to ever get things established enough to combat it. Much of the game was chaotic scrums, so I was never in a position to create clean cages to try and deal with it.
3. Removals
We had a very fair number of hits on the thralls and fouls on the Vamps throughout the game, but could only manage 3 removals - 2 KOs and 1 BH on the last turn. I feel that against Vampires when I've done well I typically have been able to take out a fair number of Thralls to push the numbers advantage. That did not happen here.
4. Poor Caging 1st Half
1st Half I wanted a foul on a downed super vamp, that I compromised my positioning to get it. That combined with then going for a 1D block left me wide open to getting sacked.
5. Mental Mismatch Mindset
From the start after I started labeling skills I felt the game was going to go badly for me, and this effected how I played. My main plan was to do everything I could to remove a vampire, most likely with a foul, and to go from there. Once all the gazing started, and vamps removal plan was clearly not working, I think I checked out around turn 4 or 5 of this match. A better mental outlook could've helped me to make the most of a bad situation.
