You know, when teachers put the rules to play gentle, but still the children hurt themselves. Well, mimimal blocks but still some casualty, and many Amazon KO.

It was the first time with Amazons and yes, we did survive blocks with dodge skill. BUT, we also suffered failed dodges as majority. And it is fails that cannot be afforded due to armour value.

My opponent was magnificent in defence, although we were proud of our offensive drive today. When to press, when to spread, when to compress etc. Parry and thrust, thrust and parry.

On our defence, we were outnumbered so positioning was key, and a small error in critical distance from my opponent had big ramification on the game. It is unfortunate as I am sure elves looked good for a score down.

Learnings:

1) Driving cage forwards was possibly best I have done. It was difficult, and dices were rolled, but it was complete. Advance players in front of cage.

2) Dodge out still better chance of success than suffering 2db, but it did not work this game.

Now we have a positional dead, and face Dark Elves with 3x block and 2x blodge. We are unskilled. This is where the Amazon experiment will end I fear, but it has been good to try them out.
