“A very interesting game, full of learnings and frustrations.
It is the first time I have coached the Necromantic team, and did not find them the easiest to pilot. Especially the wolf, I am not sure how to use it.
I also found the Nobility skills very difficult to overcome. My opponent, the great Coach Joost, did wield their powers masterfully, and to great effect.
I had hoped for some early chips to assist my game, but the first removal did not come until well into overtime, after the game had slipped away. Timing and tempo were not with us today.
Learnings:
1) Necro, incorrect set up. Inverted chevron would have been better, as ghoul was exposed, blocked, and dead. Key positional down for rest of game hurt us.
2) Look to block golems free with another player, so they can be repositioned. My opponent marks them out of game easily.
3) T4, I had wolf frenzy dice on ball, but no result. It is not dices- it is being out positioned and cut around flank. Golem caught to middle and cannot guard sidelines.
4) Sideline control of Nobility is exceptional.
Work Ons:
1) Better set up to protect positionals. I have seen Golems on the line, screening all ghoul and wolf, wraith protecting 2nd line. That or inverted chevron perhaps.
2) Keeping Golems back, or more towards flanks, to force the issue up the middle. Block / blitz gollems free to reposition.
In the end, the game gives me much to think about, and the Coach Joost was magnificent to watch. He has also given me the advice above to work on, which are very well received. To Joost I give a big thank you.
I will continue to try the Necro team, learning the positioning, and especially how to use the wolf.”
