Opponent clearly was much more skilled. Few if any clear mistakes to identify on his part. On defense his ball was always secure. There was not a moment I could that I felt I could take advantage of. His solid play combined with zero meaningful dice failures meant his drive was essentially a breeze.
On our offense we had much of the same experience. We attempted our slow push upward, but his positioning of his mummies left the middle with nothing but 1Ds. He was able to keep a solid screen behind them as well taking away the option of any breakaway. With pushing in the center very difficult, we were forced to an edge too early, and were cut off quickly.
2. More Aggressive on Offense
Our opponent advised that we should be more aggressive on offense. I felt at a certain point in the match that that was the case. We started engaging more aggressively at times, but keeping his downed players down prevented advancing on one end, the other end was too congested, and the center was essentially a stalemate with the mummies. Still, I believe he is correct, just need to figure out how to do so effectively.
3. 2 Runners on O
I have 2 Runners. I should use them, if not all the time - especially when we're on offense.
4. How we turn this game to a draw?
We needed our opponent to make a mistake somewhere. I don't feel that he did. Overcommit to a side, mark up wrong against our guard, 1/9 a mummy at an important time, none of these things happened in my opinion. So, we just work on getting better. This could be a good one to review with a buddy. ”
