“A very poor match. Poor position, poor decision making, and we are out classed by a far superior opponent.
Blitz kick off event in our favour, however we over extend, and the wolf blitzes and automatically removes our player. Our poor position is punished, and we are trapped in backfield.
Re-roll management was generally poor. 1st was for sack on ball-carrier in T1. I think it correct.
2nd re-roll is first block of T2. I think it necessary to keep pressure on ball.
3rd re-roll is also T2 for failed dodge to get onto ball. Perhaps better to re-roll the block for knock down. But, I think re-roll necessary to keep pressure on lose ball.
As a result, we are out positioned, blitzed, and another player removed. T4 we make the mistake of attempting pressure forwards, when it should be a retreat.
It was then a formality for my opponent to tie up my pieces, and advance up the field without pressure to score.
2nd half we fail several pick ups, and despite some players back for ball protection, we are tied up, swamped, and game goes from attempting to draw, to stopping the 2nd score, which we also eventually fail.
Learnings:
1) Better re-roll management
2) Careful not to over extend. Some pressure only.
3) Bring more players back when on attack until the ball is well secure.
A terrible badge we are not proud of:
