Starting off in the rain, it looked like it was going to be an easier match, as 1 Thrall was removed (1 KO and 2 CAS) in the first 3 turns, but things began to go sideways. If it wasn't for a rain-soaked ball and some butterfingers by Lady Inara in the end zone, this game would likely have been 1-0 in the Vampire's favor. Instead, the rain (and Nuffle, let's not forget his part in this) said "nope".
The ball slid out of Inara's hands, and was picked up by Koali Nishigawa. The blitz came, but Nishigawa managed to hold onto the spud, and allowed some blocks ahead of him to play out. It worked out to free Jaheim Wilson-Jones who took the handoff from Nishigawa, ran it up the field 6 yards, and uncorked a perfect pass (needed a 5+ in the rain) to the waiting arms of Alex Perry, who ran it in. 1-0 Elves at the break.
From there, some Elves being elves allowed Nishigawa to break free. Schager got the ball there, and a failed GFI let Koali stroll in untouched.
The 2nd part of the 2nd turned into a smoosh fest ofElves, with a failed Dodge by Alejado, and the death of 1st half hero Wilson-Jones, thanks to a vicious leg sweep by Count Luthor von Drakenborg, a faculty member at Harvard filling in on the roster.
Next up for Hawaii: LSU. Nothing good can come from this meeting...
