A game made fun by an excellent opponent. The Vampires did roll many 1s, and the Orc play was conspicuous for the lack of skulls.
Still, the Orcs were never safe from the Vampires, with the ball being turned over on our 2nd drive due to smart placement from our opponent coach.
Learnings:
1. We were lucky on both drives to secure ball early, but we still left some resources availible for protection and recovery. This is essential.
2. Guard inside the venga bus is essential. On corners helps too, but can be hypno away. Prioritise guard placement inside.
3. H2T1 I did not follow block to mark vamp runner. Should have done so, although I do not believe it affected result. Just good practice.
4. H2T4 re-rolls were not put to good use. Re roll of 1db, and -2db.... silly, and not necessary. Especially -2db where better to keep player for marking.
CANDIDATE MOVE: Lino assist on Vargheist, 2db on it, move to assist, then 2db on vamp (or at worst 1db, and can move away. This was the error.
Win, or Draw, and even to Lose, it was a fun game full of somethings. Some smart chain push and cage dive with hypno from my opponent, and some nice block and protection, and even some elf play at end, for the Orcs.
Thank you Coach SquirrelyDan for a most enjoyable match. ”
