#11 Kogill – Dead (RIP)
NWBL Week 8 - Bronze Cup Round 1

Tbis week the Bashers took their first lost in their 8th Contest - a rematch against the Rattown Ramblers - who we previously drew against in the regular season. Though our Squad came in with the better win/loss record, the Ramblers were significantly beyond us as far as player experience is concerned. A single Black Orc that is just finding the ropes at blocking, Hizdoo to run the ball, and Yazzy to foul weren't much compared with their line up. We attempted to even the odds by adding Helmut Wulf to our roster, and boy did he deliver. He managed to take out 2 of the highly skilled Gutter Runners that were left trailing the scrum in our first half. However, aside from the removal work of Helmut, our squad was great at getting the rats on the ground, but they always seemed to pop right back up. Our fouling game by Yazzy also yielded little to no results. Good stomps with lots of buddies to help, but no stretchers to carry out off any rats. We finished the game with 0 casualties outside of the Wulf.

Our first offensive drive we seemed to have a solid chance at the score, but the rats were consistently crafty at wriggling out of our grasp in pursuit. With the endzone in sight one of our goblins tried to do the same, but was just tripped up.

Their offensive drive the rats scored quickly. We looked to have a decent situation to score again, but again we needed the rats to stay in one spot while we held them, or to start going to the bin as we hit them. Neither took place. In a big moment the rats were able to take down our Troll Mogg with a lowly linerat. This opened a line to the ball, and we struggled from there.

The Basher team looks to join the the Silver Division next season, but I have concerns about the development of further teams moving forward. We aren't a squad that plays well when behind coming into the match. I worry that we'll see a lot of that in the coming season. We'll see. Great squad we played today.
