#12 Tona Criid – Seriously Hurt (MNG)
First Match with Gobbos.

Set-up mistake with the Fanatic in T1 lead to immediate removal (KO). S6 diagonal with one normal and one guard support beats S7!

Bomma was fouled off the pitch in T2 (BH) without throwing even one bomb. Consider it a set-up mistake as well that he was so accessible.

T4 3D Blitz with Troll on ball carrying fox on the sideline. Even with Re-Roll he could not get a no Pow and the fox scored in T5 with fox after four 2+ dodges and two 2+ GFI.

After that the Trolls began to act stupid and I was not able to score for a halftime tie.

After all my ‘weapons’ had been removed – banned, BH or just did not make the KO return – I started H2 with two Trolls and five plain Gobbos against two Trees, a fox, a Trickster, a Beastmaster and four Gnomes. At that point I honestly did not believe in a draw at all. Even more after the Kickoff event was another Blitz for the Gnomes, which ended with a KOed Gnome.

With some luck I managed to remove the remaining fox from the pitch in T12 and one tree rooted himself on a very quiet spot of the pitch, which left the Gnomes with only two Gnomes and each one Trickster, Beastmaster and Tree versus two Trolls and five Goblins deep in their half of the pitch at the beginning of their T12.

At the beginning of my T15 three Goblins and two Trolls only faced a cut down tree and a single Gnome with only six squares to go for the TD… but I already messed it up! Considering the five KOed Gnome players in the dugout, I wanted to stall and score in T16 only. But instead of securing the ball carrier I went for a Troll Blitz on the remaining Gnome, which did not happen due to stupidity. It seems the Troll took the coach as leading example. That allowed a desperate but very successful 1D Blitz on the ball carrier (after three successful 3+ dodges). So, my task for T16 was not moving one square to score with a ball carrying Goblin, but to 2D Block the Gnome away from the ball and then pick up the ball in the endzone with the remaining Goblin. At least I had one Re-Roll left for the 3+ pick up attempt, which I did not even need. PRAYERS TO NUFFLE!

The closing chapter of this bloody game was his T16: Two Trees, a Beastmaster and a Gnome faced two Trolls and two Goblins. The 1TTD was still possible, but unlikely. Nevertheless I tried to prevent it as good as possible and thought about a proper set-up longer than expected. ;-) In the end the Gnomes did not even try it, but punched faces... without further effect.

Main Learnings:
* Consider the set-up of the weapons.
* Consider the number of secret weapons and when to field them – maybe the selection of another Star would have been better.
* Secure the ball first – ALLWAYS!
* Never give up easy
