“Our first ever victory over the Goblins. It has been a long time coming.
In this game, the Goblin tricks were unlucky not to work. Bombs, chainsaws, fouls, and Trolls staying stupid... I can see now how it is a tough team to handle.
Actually.. the bomb did roll a 5+ to sack our ball carrier.. it was used as intended!
My opponent coach AZALNUBIZAR played with panache, throwing goblins, attempting cage dives, and unlucky not to get the swoop goblin landing in scoring range.
Learnings:
1. We were lucky to be able to make many 3db, and overall rolled more pows which was a requirement in this game. Still, it did not save us from block failure.
2. Receiving first, and taking early score, was good idea to remove secret weapons before they did too much damage.
3. H1T6 the (two) failed GFI's... I still think correct play, getting us out of blitz range. But perhaps not... 1/6 chance of fail, whereas gobbo needs 5+ to sack ball.. hmmm...
4. H1T8 sloppy play, did not count turns correctly, and put skink in range for removal. Lucky.
5. H2T2 we choose both down to sack ball, but push followed by pressure would hva ebeen much better candidate move.
6. H2T3 we position skink on corner next to ball, ready to be pushed onto ball. A slight error.
A chaotic game with no block skill in sight. very interesting, but I am impressed with Lizarmen mobility. Will try this team again.
