#8 Shawn – Serious Injury (NI)
Rumors emerged that crisis talks between the Head Coach and young talent Sienna Sretalles had again descended into chaos with Sretalles demanding a place on the starting lineup only to be scolded and instructed that they need to knuckle down on the training pitch if they have any chance of starting a game before the end of the season. Star Ghouls Ric and Paul dragged Sretalles out of the meeting before any more objects or bones of any kind could be launched in the Head Coach's direction.

Despite the heated exchange, Sretalles was seen on the training pitch well after sunlight rose in the 3 days leading up to the game with the Limewire Bucs suggesting they had taken note of what their Head Coach was telling them. However, it clearly wasn't enough as they were again left out of the starting lineup with a mixture of grrgs and arrgs from an undead crowd clearly divided on opinion about how this situation is evolving.

The Bucs came into this game undefeated in two, heavily armed with Star Player Bomber Dribblesnot recruited to help their cause and a strong opponent for the Bone Crunchers. However, there was blushes for Dribblesnot during his first turn when it ended with a massive deflection off Zombie Brock's fat rotting head and rebounded straight back into two Big Uns sending them prone. A bad start for Dribblesnot but he soon made up for it turn 2 knocking out key Wight Dwayne into the KO box which was a massive scalp so early in the half. Ghouls Ric and Paul retreated to relative safety but no matter what the undead hoard did, they could not get a direct shot on Dribblesnot who was causing absolute havoc to their offensive drive.

Turn 5 then saw a massive bomb caught by Ric whilst he was holding the ball and as he prepared to throw it back, the normal 5 second timer had been reduced to 1 second and it instantly exploded, stunning him and sending fellow Ghoul Paul prone next to the ball. Big un, the Notorious B.R.I.G., covered the ball but it wasn't enough to stop Paul escaping. Orc Randy Dandy then fouled Steve into the afterlife for his second time only for the Bone Crunchers Head Coach to scream like a banshee at the referee to send him off which he did so. He then screamed at his necromancer to fix Steve and despite warning that there was a huge risk Steve would not return the same as before, relented and raised Steve from the dead yet again.

Huge pressure from the Limewire Bucs resulted in an unheard of Turn 7 score for the Undead and to add insult to injury, suffered a throw team mate touchdown in the Limewire Bucs turn 8 sending their fans wild at the prospect of knocking off the current league leaders with their drive yet to come. Goblin Gentle Clive raised his hands in the air as Orcs cheered their small hero. However, it came at a price as the Bone Crunchers lived up their name prior to this, seriously injuring Big un, The Notorious B.R.I.G., and Blitzer, Whisky Jar, sending them out of action for the foreseeable future.

The Bone Crunchers knew they had to be aggressive and once again, Head Coach turned to up and comer, Sretalles, in a bid to turn over the Bucs and try to secure a victory. Interestingly, all that training had been worth it as Sretalles was now a recognised Blocker for the Bone Crunchers and came on hyped up to help their team to victory.

By Turn 3, a massive scrum took place which saw the Bone Crunchers coming out ahead. A chance at a throw team mate failed as Troll, Smee, suffered from being Really Stupid and Mummy, Hulk, smashed ball carrier Gentle Clive into the ground. Paul then nipped in and with the majority of the Undead parking the bus in the Bucs endzone, bored spectators with a display only those with 200 years of age can enjoy.

After the game Sretalles was seriously considered for MVP by the fans but ultimatley it went to Hulk. Whilst Sretalles have any significant statistics next to their name, it was the positioning and selflessness to not go for glory that impressed the crowd with one supporting stating 'grrg, arrg, grrg, aaaaaarrrrg.' A ringing endorsement indeed for the future star in the making.

2-1 to the Bone Crunchers as their slow march at the top continues. Fans remain divided about how the team is being managed but so long as the wins keep coming, it's hard to see a change being forced at this stage of the season.
