We were manhandled from start to finish. It was 31 blocks by my opponent to 8 of mine by the time they scored in the 8th turn, with a butchers bill to match- out mummy Heracles badly hurt from turn 4.
So... what can we learn? The coach Solaris is very generous in advice, and supports my thoughts on note #1.
Analysis:
1. Standing up players, only to get punched again. This gives another chance of removal, where it is better to leave them on the ground.
I did this to try and 'gum up' the attacking drive, perhaps force a mistake, but odds of this are low, and odds of POWS are much higher. I allowed my mummys to get hit repeatedly, so one is CAS and the other is KO, after many armour breaks and knock downs.
LESSON: leave down, or protect better so they don't go down. If drive goes wrong, STAY DOWN!
2. My blitzes were mis-directed, targeting zombies. I do this to hope for an easier chip, however as Coach Solaris points out- this is what they are made to do.
LESSON: target positional and high value pieces.
3. Undead mirror match, often comes down to which mummy is first to go down.
LESSON: If there is opportunity for 2db on a mummy, TAKE IT.
MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO
I also like the following from my opponent: Diagonal zombie, mummy, zombie positioning. Means I cannot 2db mummy. Nice. Speaks to the lessons above too.
Thank you Coach Solaris and good luck to the 600th RRR.
