So I normally write my thoughts after each match, but missed this one!
I have started a necro team, and look to the masters to see how they develop and skill them. I see the great coach jean-michel has a nice team so I investigate and found we are part of the journey!
I look to the replay to jog my memory...
1. LOCK DOWN SIDELINES
Spacing on defence was not correct, and we allowed sidelines to be penetrated. Dangerous, but doubly so against necro.
Additionally, we are worked side to side like a wobbly tooth, and our short dwarven legs cannot keep up. It is expert play from my opponent to play to their strengths, and against our weaknesses.
T5, with 3 re-rolls, I think I could have dodged a blitzer away and into better sideline protection. Why not? Lessons, and hindsight.
2. DWARF BETTER
On offence we find a little space through the middle, and push through, with messy screen and support. We left some 36% plays to sack available.
Perhaps better to advance as a line. Dwarves always safest as a unit. We did not have the mobility to really protect that well, and forced to score early and defend for 3 more turns.
MAIN TAKEAWAY
Lock down sidelines better, especially as dwarves. I think columns? Mini 'L' shape and flat line defence?
Also, as necro, expose sidelines. The great coach jean-michel teaches me this. I like it, and will learn from it. Bravo.”
