1. If This Fails, What is the Worst that Could Happen?
A mistake I've made many times before, and something to learn from this game. Took several -2D blocks against the Guardians in my early turns, and this was simply foolish. The answer to the above question would've been, the ball will be swarmed and my drive will essentially be stalled if not destroyed. Haha, feels like a good reason not to throw the block - foolish.
2. Tagging Guardians, Force 1/9s
Marking the guardians was generally an effective way to deal with them, but there were several instances where we were forced into 2 or even 3 to one tagging scenarios. Its important to always be asking when this guardian hits me and most likely follows up, what will he then be tagging? And to position accordingly. We were able to force 1 failed block that allowed us a chance to breakaway in the 2nd half, but aside from that the TKs were very clean on the 1/9s.
3. Put Tomb Kings into AG Dependent Scenarios
This would generally be my approach to the Tomb Kings: force dodges, and force/pressure pick ups. Sadly today there were no struggles. We had a moment in the 2nd half where we heavily engaged to bait dodges or bad blocks. It did allow for us to be in position to put on pressure and eventually force the turnover, but our marking and screening was not able to prevent the pursuit. Wouldn't do anything different here. ”
