“Another local derby against a team and coach we are seeing quite a bit of.

The great Coach Murker, I must first thank for his patience. Real life distractions cause great delays, and there is nothing but patience.

I praise this school of thinking that a game with no time outs is a game with more interest.

From our last encounter, I knew to be a little more aggressive. Our 2nd half went well, blocks did stick, and ultimately our offensive drive was successful.

But the 1st half on defence was a lot tougher. We were out blocked and bashed into inferior numbers. We could not prevent the break through, nor could we advance the stall.

Learnings:

1. When I coach to the elves, I will look at the Coach Murker and his play style. The break through, and the stall. Excellent screens, and able to 'fish hook' around us. We cannot keep up.

2. I think, keeping more sweepers back, perhaps a chevron style set up, would be of benefit here. Something to try for next game plan.

No ability to skill any players this game, and only 2 games left for the run. Next season we will be better because of the failures this season.”
