#10 'Eadcrumpa – Dead (RIP)
#11 'Eadsmasha – Dislocated Shoulder (-ST)
A very tough and brutal game, on both sides of the pitch.

The Nurgle are a tough team, and the interesting skills of tentacles, and foul appearance, does put the orcs off their game. Claws mutation also had an impact, although no help was needed getting through armour.

My opponent did speak to the dices, so I investigate a little in my summary below. I do know, it is often not seemingly as bad on the other side of the table.

Analysis:

1. Well... Blitz! event is never a good one for either coach, I think. It does provide an additional puzzle, but when combined with a shallow kick.. it changes the face of the game. Orcs were lucky, and it sets the tone early on.

2. We get out of the sticky situation the blitz! created, retaining ball and withdrawing to safety. An orc CAS and pestigor crowd surf means it is 10v10. However a orc CAS to foul as well as send off results in 9v9.

3. Our T3 is poor.. we position ball carrier where it can be hit easily. Better candidate? I can count 2 gfi for ball carrier, then another 2 gfi for screening blitzer. 80% success to deny a 65% sack play. Better option to take this I think.

4. After losing the ball, a failed rush by my opponent allows the chance to counter score. Failed rush is unlucky- it was a 41% chance to pick the pull up from the play. Not great, so the risk was there.

5. 2nd half we receive, but after a ball pick up fail, we find ourselves under pressure from the slower Nurgle. Interesting, but we managed well.

Learnings:

Patience, and sticking to basics is key. Ball safety, was done better in 2nd half after drive started to look tricky. Some armour breaks and great Nurgle pressure made it interesting.

As for the dices, I felt armour breaks were strong from Nurgle. Indeed, 27% of armour rolls were breaks on the orcs- not bad at all for 10+ on a 2d.

Nurgle had more POW and POW/PUSH success than the Orcs, however Orcs did have higher % of single dice success.

The only failed blocks were on 1db (there is a lesson to be learned here) with Orcs failing 2 of 16 (!? yuck..) versus 3 of 13 to Nurgle.

Outside of blitz! and a poorly timed 41% failure, I did not feel there were dices in play. But in saying that, had those two events not come into play, the result could well have been different.
