“Utterly thumped, out bashed, outmanoeuvred, and outplayed by my opponent coach.
There will be a long list of things to discover where I went wrong, but I will try to pick just a few, and try to learn and improve from them next time.
It never feels good to fluke an undeserving result. Only 1s stop my opponent from making it 3-0 win in favour of the Chaos team.
So, what can we learn and do better?
1. CONNECTION
We spread out, leaving isolated players, which are blitzed and fouled off pitch. Positioning is poor, and we are not sure what to do in the face of the 3x strength pieces.
I feel connecting together is better. I still do not understand dwarves. So weak, so slow, and against teams such as these with big strength players we cannot compete.
2. SURF SCHOOL
My opponent expertly directs us to the sidelines, and goes to town removing our players through surfing. It is nice to watch, but would like to understand how I can prevent it better.
There was some calculated risk, attempting to delay the inevitable scores against us. Must we completely give up sidelines (and the score) or is there a better way?
3. CORNER SPOT
For the 2nd time, we have played a craven game and withdrawn to the corner square to avoid a loss. Push means crowd surf and ball pops up in scoring range. This, I think I could have played better.
But, there were no good options, only not as bad ones. I could try to blitz free the slayer, and re direct material to protection. Still, we are down on material and there are still other risks.
SUMMARY
Another disheartening game where we cannot compete. To become close to being pitch cleared as a high armour team is humbling.
The dwarves, I cannot get the hang of. Perhaps I should look to more replays from the masters to understand. I will be glad to end this BBT run and put this team behind me.
