#11 Taurox – Serious Injury (NI)
#6 Gorduz – Seriously Hurt (MNG)
#10 Malagor – Seriously Hurt (MNG)
Holy Smokes. We took 91 blocks that game... a personal record I think!

Insanity, and we are lucky to escape with only 4 casualties. I do think it was unfortunate, but there was method to our madness.

From Turn 1 we have 4 players on the floor. It is a deep kick, so... pressure it is. We are not winning the fight here.

This Chaos build I was excited to try the troll. We brought a gun to a gun fight- but Coach Bloodfeast had a bigger gun. So bash was not an option- we had to use dash. Off two re-rolls...

We chose to pin his Guardians early on, and break into back field. More pressure is applied, including basing the ball carrier. We make many dodges, and a pick up, and some rushes, and get lucky on a defensive score.

But... we start the 2nd half down on players, with a failed troll recovery. We keep some screens, width, and options. Then go full potato, whilst trying to hold Tomb Kings down via marking.

We are sacked, there was a chance for us on recovery, but we are out of re rolls and the drive is over, and we cannot stop the defensive score.

It was worth trying, but in the end we are outclassed by a much better opponent. So, what can we learn?

1. SAFETY

We lost the game by not having a safety in place. Had we had one, we may have stood a chance of stopping the counter score on our attacking drive.

This was, in part, due to being 2 players behind, and attempting an aggressive marking strategy. However, there was time and space to dodge a Blocker away to cover the fail state a bit better. Instead, we leave him to be marked, and blocked out of the game.

2. MARKING

Trading out the Blockers for Guardians seems like a good TV trade, and limits their bash ability in the important places. I think the strategy has merit. But I am obviously not good enough coach to make it work well. It is all learning.

SUMMARY

In the end, we are beaten by a better coach, but luck is on our side, and kicks are cruel to our opponent. Our struggle to win a game continues, and our eternal struggle against the Tomb Kings continues. But, we tried something different, and we can learn from the failures.
