“A very rough game for the Orcs, against a superior opponent.
In an effort to learn, I am trying to find things each game to improve on. This was a tough one, and a game where I had no traction all game.
My opponent was superb in defence and gave me no opportunity, and on my own defence there was no way I could stop the score.
1. PROTECT
In the first half my opponent spots and executes a brilliant 38% play to sack the ball. I had left it open, and it was exploited. So, I certainly need to protect better. That play cost us the game.
2. RECEIVE?
It is the first time I have been able to receive against Norse. But it was raining... I still think it the right decision, although I could not get any removals, and the slippery ball did come back to haunt me in the end. So, maybe the right decision, if I had not left ball open to sacking.
3. COWARDICE
T6 of 2nd half we have a 1db on the ball carrier. We do not take it out of fear... the fail state would have been players surfed, defence destroyed, and score made.
BUT.. the win state would have secured the draw I think. The wrong move I think, and the 2nd nail in the coffin towards our demise. We can look just to the first half for an example of bravery which won the game from my opponent. ”
