“A wonderful opponent which made the game very enjoyable.
The Great Coach Baron Bucky applied immense pressure, and used sensational speed to give us many puzzles to solve.
Barney the appropriately named Ogre found his boneheads at the worst possible time for the Isotopes. This gave the Butchers just enough space to squeak through for the TD.
LEARNINGS:
1. TIDY UP
We just need to tidy up a little. A miscalculated 1db went unpunished. And an opportunity for 1db on our ball carrier also went unpunished.
The latter mistake could certainly have cost us the game. 2 GFI were required, 92% chance of making it work with re rolls. Should have done so in retrospect.
Or, made better calculations, so GFI requirement minimised.
2. RULE OF TWO
In defense, we did not use the rule of two effectively. In the 1st half on our 2-turn defence, I 'think' a flat line would have been better, with mummies on outside to force central movement.
We also had a single player protecting the mid field on our 1st half offensive drive, which was 2db down to base our ball carrier. Great pressure from humans.
3. MID FIELD
Enthusiastically we applied pressure to ball carrier, but did not base it after failing the sack attempt. We should have I think, just to make life difficult. We should also have given more consideration to protecting the mid field. Coach BB found some smart 1db to clear the path for the eventual score.
We also had 4 dice on ball carrier, but allowed the ingress point by not using rule of two in the mid field. Still, it was 80% chance to sack, so I think it still a good move. Learning. ”
