“Were back to orks and starting off with a draw. Better than the last round at least.
First half, I ground down for a TD. It was a typical human/ork beginner team matchup. Lots of tagging, caging, slow moving, and hitting. The big different in the first half is when the columns were made in the EZ. And I learned why not to do that - because you can just chain push your way to the score. Went up 1-o and the TTM hit a big un - things were looking good until the second half.
I lost a few orks early to high removal rolls. And im not giving blocks willy nilly, its mainly the blitz causing it. Opp scored because they had a 2 player advantage and I only had 4 turns to score which was a good move. Turning point was when a goblin fouled the ogre out. It let the ork strength shine for the last few turns. I managed to establish a cage. Human trickery did not work on the last turn. I had a goblin open and - failed anomosity. Big reason why I dont call roks a true T1 team is because of the crap anomisity rule they were given - just absurd. Theyre already a slow team.
But lamenting about rules aside, was a close match. Opp was fun to chat with. And starting off my 15 games with a draw instead of a loss... PROGRESS!
Takeaways:
NO make defensive columns in the EZ
Pay attention to chainpushes for positioning
Always have a goblin on the field - they just disrupt formations with the stunty in the mass of these big ole slow orks. ”
