Starting Nobility is very tough so I felt I had the advantage in this matchup. For defense, I tagged a few players and left a few other open. I think when the nobility blitzer came after my goblin deep in the EZ, that helped me. I was basically able to stay on him while the opponent tried to figure out how to get a TD with a bodyguard.
I had that moment when I first blitzed the BC where I almost didnt. I had 2 RRs, but I needed 2 rushes with an unskilled bigun. I did the blitz but when I got a dub push I did not RR it. I figured I didnt get everything I wanted. But it was a good position. Tahnkfully he dub BD'd while holding the ball which led to my eventual TD.
Second half, I used the STR 4 to bully and impose my wil. It worked until it didnt when I had a critical dub skull late in the second quarter. Opp responded the following turn by rolling just as badly - one of those games I suppose.
So 2-0, exercised more patience and it paid off.
Takeaways:
- Nobility are a few critical things from being a great option. Theyre just too expensive and the body guards need higher AV to stand firm and take hits on a regular basis. I benefited from a but of removal on them.
- 2 goblins is interesting on the field. It worked well here but I dont think it would work well versus a bunch of high STR like lizards.
- There were a few times where I had a bigun not hit a peasant because of fend. I just couldnt give up positioning and it was a good choice. There wasa time where I wouldnt catch that.
- First ork win of this season. Not bad, were making progress as the learning continues.
Opp was aweomse and I look forward to matching wits with them again :)”
