We are, once again, embarrassed and outplayed in the SWL. It is a game where we had no traction or ability to compete.
We are out bashed, and thoroughly out dashed.
The season was over before the game began, with no chance to compete for the Bronze title, however we had a goal of salvaging a draw to remain undefeated, and generate CAS with Gillmeister.
We failed both. The Coach Tomay positioned brilliantly, and there was no stopping his scores or preventing the removals from blocks or fouls.
Learnings
1. SCREEN
In Turn 6 we advanced the ball in a cage, however we did not have screen protecting cage.
As a result, the cage was blitzed with superior strength trolls, and we had to high roll our way to an early score- not ideal as the gutter runner can score with impunity in 2 turns.
2. PRESSURE
It was smart what coach Tomay did, on several fronts. One was fouling and removing my players, especially blitzers.
Another was allowing me to pass, then applying cage pressure to force early score. A trap I fell into. I don't think I could have stalled safely. Snotlings and gutters can dodge into side cages.
3. KICK OFF EVENTS
They are a trap. We re-organised our defences, but Gutter just went the other way and there was no stopping it. Frustrating, but perhaps the lesson we can learn is to try and keep original position in tact. We didn't have the strength to engage LOS, or speed to cover backfield.
Summary
I scratch my head on this one. I don't quite know how I was out bashed. Having so much bloat in the team, I end up facing S6 players and bombers.
Furthermore, I just don't know how to stop the gutter. It seems I have to pray for double 1s, which is no way to play Blood Bowl.
Filthy zombie takes MVP for a third time. We need to fire that player anyway due to skill bloat. ”
