#9 Arianna Radblast – Smashed Knee (-MA)
Any loss is frustrating for a short time. This one pretty much encapsulates this Renegade team season. Just crazy rolls my opps make that always seemt to succeed - such is the game we play.

First half I kicked. I lost alittle to attrition early on. I made sure to blitz with the right players which is good progress for me. I could have cage dived on a 5 plus RR but then my elf is in danger and probably surfed. SO I think it was the better decision to have my opp make some die rolls. IN the end it worked for him very well.

I used the remaining of the first half to murder and it worked - got osme removals. I had a chance at a score but I either rush failed or BD/BD'd - cant remember.

Second half - no secret weapons, no pogo stick and my bois are finally killing some goblins. Foul fails took out 4 goblins as well. T3 and 4 I was set up for a score and on back to back turns he uphill blitzes the dodge elf with a skilless player to knock him down successfully. The secondone was RR to dub Pows, bounce to the blitzing goblin, successful catch in the rain. I targeted the goblin with 8 bock die to no avail. He ended up tripping to get away, and i picked up the ball. I needed a single rush so my goblin could blitz the elf tag - failed rush as usual.

Takeaways:

- Games like this, I feel like I couldnt have done anything differently to really improve anything. 2 back to back uphills in a row versus a dodge elf is something I think everyone loses to in that position. I did place him into position to be 2 die uphilled but in that small cagey situation it was that or goblin dodges to blitz and then the ball is popped off the pitch. Still I think the best decision there but I'll have to think about it.

- Troll failed stupidity T1, 2, and 3, making my defense extra tough. 3 big guys is tough to manage. If I dot his again, I may just go with 2 big guys.

- I rolled less rushes and still failed more of them. I went 24 games in a row where I always faield more rushes - then had one where I equalled, then had one where I didnt fail more, and now were back to 30 percent or more faield rushes all the time.

- Renegades continue to be absolutely cursed in this season. I couldnt protect the ball from 3 goblins and a troll in the rain while having most of my team.

Opp played very well - would play again. It was fun.
