Forst half I kicked. I used a technique I saw some streamers using where if you have high str pieces, or similar str but you have block and they don, then you base the opp. And it worked for the most part. Before he attempted the pass he was down to I think 1 RR, having to use those things to block my guys way. I was content with a quick skaven score but the pass from his thrower flubbed on a snake. I jumped the ball like a white guy on a country club membership. I was working with what I had to move ball carrier ptotection down the field. I was suprised at no cage dive attempt BUT, the opp used a basing with a SS gutter and friend instead and it was pretty effective. I got lucky on the last block and scooted in for a TD.
Second half, I tried to use what I saw someone do where you just move a wall of meat and make sure there's minimal protection in the back. And it was basically bullying rats around and forcing themt o encircle earlier. I was able to make a line between my guys and their guys in the back. It looked dicey in the last few turns (pun intended) but I injured to SS DT gutter and got the second TD.
The third was a 2 turner for the skaven that I just let happen. Why risk more injury when I have the game?
Takeaways:
- For as frustrated as I have been on my losses lately, this felt like Christmas in July. I need to remember this feeling.
- Not many crazy failures in a row or anything. Just a few key ones on the rat side that opened things for me.
- Considering slashing the TV down, maybe only going with 3 blorks and 1 RR plus leader? It worked well here but I have learned trimmer teams do better in the box.
Opp was great fun, would def play again. ”
