“So vampires, I almost hate them more than elves. But were here to learn.

First half I was in control of everything. I picked up the ball and set up some cage traps. Both times the ball was sacked but I had players there to recover and then hit the vampires in return. Tehy eventually ran out of gas, even though still with only 3 players on the pitch I was STILL in danger of losing the ball.

Second half was a T3 vampire score. I kind of expected this. They still had 11 on the field. When I recieved the ball, I think thisone was on-side kicked just about. I surrounded my blodge elf with 6 players but with a series of 2 plus hypnos, none of it mattered. Ball popped loose and went way north. I was able to hover around it but another lucky bounce from a stripped ball, a hypno later and the vamps scored again. With a deep kick and 3 turns, only a gobbo toss would have saved me. But thanks to the rain and hypno gumming everything up, no throw attempt was possible.

Frustrating loss especially when most of my decisions didnt make a difference.

Takeaways:

- I still maintain that vampires are the least fun team to play against. I like playing defense and setting screens, cages, feints. But the only real strat against them is to plan to have the ball stripped, and then hope it bounces to a spot where you littered it with TZs. Its the best strat against and it worked in the first half. But I hate that this is my best option - vamps are so good - you just have to assume they will succeed and be ready for it.

- Block mino is amazing. He feasted on thralls. He was fun to bully the little folk with.

- Of my opps 55 block die, he rolled 3 skulls and 3 BDs - I'll have what hes having.

- The game felt like it was in control. But really bad kicks andv a crowd throw in dictated the loss in the end. Such is bloodbowl.
