First half I received and it was an onsode kick and the opp got perfect defense. The ball bounced next to 2 of his players - I didnt see myself coring formt he get go. BUT the ogres decided to go full ogre for a turn and nabbed 3 removals. I sat snots next to the ball and stared at it until it was safe to try to pick it up. Using attrition and osme well behaved ogres (for the first half), I was able to score T8. I ended up having to pick up in a TZ and rush in the EZ for a TD which was lucky even though I saved my RR for the last turn to make sure.
Second half, the xons used a side cage. At first, I thought I was going to try to fill the three spots in with snots so I TTM'd a snot closer. BUT I didnt have anyone free to do the hit if that happened so, mistake on my part definitely. Thankfully my poor decisions were rewarded as I 3 die up hilled the BC. I made a snot wall in front of it, things looked up. But the zons easily dodged through the "snotling wall" and scored. I had a few turns to score though. And the issue with opps and stunty teams on short turns is that they have to defend the TTM AND the walk forward. Without a full 11 players, its a tough ask for any team (unless youre vampires, then everything is easy). On a T7 blitz the ball was popped loose but it stayed next to my bois. I blocked the zon off the ball, picked it up, and scored after a rush.
Takeaways:
- Hit and run is nasty. I cant really tag a zon after they blitz a snot and hes still standing with sidestep because after I choose, they can just step away. I mean, it is called hit and run.
- Being down an ogre paired me for this match. I got lucky on the pows I think.
- 2 block ogres is doing work. I mean, I knew it would be good. But its REALLY good.
Opp was fun to chat with while playing and made great choices - would def play again. ”
