“I continue my quest to figure out how to deal wth vampires. (Traditional methods of using holy water and crucifixes have gotten me kicked out of tournaments).
First half, the vamps scored super quick. I set most of my team back on purpose. I know theyre going to score if they want to, I just want them to use as many thralls/RRs as possible getting there. And it worked. I had ample time to score in the first half to tie the game. I lost the ball a few times, but I planned that and it's finally working. I layer the cage and put some extra players where the ball could bounce too and just let them vamps sack me and use their RRs getting there.
Second half wa smuch of the same of the first except he didnt get any KOs back so I had a decent player advantage. My ball carrier was sacked 3-4 times but as planned, in a recoverable spot. There is some randomness because I cant control the bounce but its not so bad with lots of players around that area.
A good win for the Nurgle, who continue to be the best team in the box I have ever driven. Weird.
Takeaways:
- Very low TV is paying off dividends. I have skills on most of my players, even if I dont have 4 bloaters or the big guy and its a lot for this TV when I match. This is the first time I have trimmed a roster to almost nothing in the box.
- I usually regret sure hands pestigor, but he came in clutch on the final pick up. I wont take it as my first skill, but I'll include it as one.
- Its tough to gauge things by total dice when vamps roll to activate and dodge all day. I only rushed once which is cool - my forward positioning is improving.
- Vamps are still the least fun team to play against. Having to plan on their emminent success at sacking the BC is the best strat against them - but its also all that works because hypno is way too good, and their drawbacks arent enough. I hope they get a nerf at some point.
Opp played great and made it a game, definitely. Would absolutely play again. ”
