#3 Yewda – Serious Injury (NI)
Hey bud, nice round up. :)

Few points I’d add, take ‘em or bin em!

Your T5 pressure left an easy 2D on that rotter marking the tree at 97% to get a knockdown. It left the tree free to reposition and critically the space for the ball and complete cage to go through with virtually no other dice. Up till that point you’d left very little easy options. The pressure to force a T7 score was indeed more secure, but I wonder how many times the Nurgle two turn works in response, so is it worth risking the less likely sack?
I’m not saying your choice was wrong, I’m thinking it’s a good one to think upon? :)

The 2 turn was a bit swingy I thought. The touchback was a great help. I might’ve just left a rotter on the tree and freed everyone else to pile forwards? My failed block was a 1/81 but it was lazy of me not to cover the weak file on the catcher with the available line elf, so maybe I should’ve been punished harder…
Unlucky not to get the 3D block and double rush to score at the end, but at this point it had been a very lucky attempt already!

Thought you pressed very well on offence. Couldn’t fault the controlled cage. Even the opening dub skull aside I couldn’t even get a knockdown around the cage until about T5, and losing enough players to void the column screen really left you in charge. As you said, when the going is good you put your foot on the gas. Nice play!
Think my only big error in the second half was choosing to leave my best player based for the assist on a 1D. Admittedly the following string of dice was again quite bad for me, I should have done it with the rookie dancer instead. Appropriately punished ;)

I could complain about the dice but that is pointless. You played well and it was a great chance to try and solve problems from awkward positions. Thanks man, definitely happy to play you again some time.

Woj Nurgle continues to match first even though I have like 8 teams searching - weird lol. We continue our fortunate streak.

Forst half the woodies received and deplyed a Dakka offense. I held off this time, but I didn't wait until the very end to apply pressure. I just made sure I had 2 safeties that could cover runaway elves. And I tagged the rest of the team with buddies to make blocking them out of the way a commitment to resources. I could have done a risky blitz on T6 with a dodge BUT, Ive been asking myself more what happens if it fails or does not work AND what happens if it DOES work right? if I pop the ball loose, I have one player standing next to 3 elves, an MVP for my team, and dangerously close to the sideline. If it doesnt he can cage up and foul. So I elected to blitz and pressure and it worked. I was given 2 turns to score.

Ball landed off field so I got a free pick up I think? I blitzed some elves off the line and set up a tagged cage. It was the best I could think of. Maybe next time I just throw WRS down there and hold him back for a hand off? I'll have to look at that again. He flubbed a RR on a 2 die block which gave me a chance. I flubbed the 3 die block and then failed a 3 plus for a score (although I may have neded to rush - cant remember).

Second half, I held the ball in the backfield while I blocked some elves and fouled - trying to take some pieces off the board before the inevitable cage dive. Zombie Beanbelly KOd an elf before getting caught. I moved up the field and stacked a cage with some extras, planning for the cage crash to work. Ive seen this before where you can bait the opp into a cage crash but set it up so they have to use all their resources to make it happen. He didnt take the bait, but not taking that bait allowed me to move forward.

The cage crash happened at 1 turn before the very end when the elf had a 1 die block and skulled. I know with skaven, I like to use a wrestle/SB to do this. But I'll tend to take some attempts early knowing I can kinda double back on other attempts. But attrition was taking its' toll and opp had only a few options available - he made the most of them.

Very happy with a draw on this, esp against woodies with nurgle. I have a well developed team BUT the matchup is still not favorable.

Takeaways:

- Leaning into block and MB has worked very well. I will continue to do so.

- 3 bloaters and no big guys is my new favorite thing to do with this team. From now on, all my teams in the box will be trimmed to the bone.

- I only blocked the tree when I wanted to free up other players. But man, I really wanted to kill a tree - what is an undead tree like petrified wood? I however avoided that tiny devil on my shoulder and elected to focus on positoning and scoring. I guess Ive changed a bit...

- 1 RR woodies are risky bidness. I think when I run them in the box, I'll trim them down as much as possible, maybe 1 WD? I dunno.

Coach was great and sup fun to talk to - would def play again.
