First half I kicked and got 3 swarming players. Trolls were Kod on successive turns 1 and 2, but used the apo on the second turn. It was looking like I might be able to score on the opps drive at one point after skitter stabbed a fox to the KO box. But where Nuffle giveth, Nuffle also taketh away. Skitter did not pick up the ball and then got stuck in the scrum with the snots and the gnomes. The fox hovered in the back, waiting for an opportunity. Thankfully between some favorable block die and sidestep, I didnt provide a decent opportunity.
Second half, I failed all my KO rolls I think, maybe succeeded 1? Cant remember. I was "down" to 12 players - swarming is really good. I removed a few on my opening drive and then - catastrophe. The tree interfered, intercepted, and rolled a 6 on the thrw - Koing a snot and knocking down the ball carrier. Just like that, all advantage wiped and it became a game. This crazy game we agree to play, right?
The tree then blitzed and took out the "new" ball carrier. But, many things are possible wth skitter in a match like this. I picked up the ball and started taking out gnomes. In the end, I used skitters speed to run off. Opp forgot the fox doesnt have right stuff so I avoided a potential tie with a TTM.
Takeaways:
- Low trimmed rosters are the ticket for the blackbox AND they force me to play smarter because I dont have all the toys to work with.
- Bombers might be trash, but for a short 4 plus throw and not much investment - not bad.
- Still not missing the hoppers and stilties.
Opp played great and was kinda new to fumbbl controls. Would def play again. ”
