“Last game for this team and we got our first loss. It's lame, but it is what it is. It already surpassed what it should have.
First half I had to kick. I took out a few players with KOs and had 2 safeties waiting for the catcher. I took a chance on a 2 die blitz and snaked a rush, which opened the lane for scoring. I was kind of okay with this since I could pressure and give me a few turns to try to score. I put myself in a position to hand off to a zombie which went as it should. Zombie Beanbelly went on a murder spree - proud of you.
Second half I received and just catastrophic dice sealed the whole thing. A team as slow as Nurgle can afford maybe 1-2 really bad turns before the game is out of reach and all of my turns were disasterous. First turn, 2 critical dib skulls so had to burn both RRs. it was critical becaus ethe kick landed the ball right on the LOS next to opposing TZs. next turn, single die skulled a critical block. And it pretty much went downhill from here.
Good win for HRNSUP - I dont think Ive ever beaten him on fumbbl.
Takeaways:
- An entire half of rolling nothing but failure is just plain difficult to sit through.
- This was still a good matchup for me. I may not have gotten the dice I needed to show it, but if I make a few of those rolls, I think I'm in a good position.
- Still kicking myself on the defensive blitz. I could have just waited and I didn't. Just because you have a blitz on the BC doesnt mean you should take it.
- Rolling twice as many skulls as every toher die result except for pushes - just being IN the game with that kind of travesty is a success.
- I continue the fine tradition of failing more rushes than my opp. Only made 2/6.
- With this squad being done, Ive learned that for blackbox, trimming the roster down to almost nothing is critical. You get better matchups and tend to avoid teams like completely loaded vampires.
Tough loss for the last game of the season BUT, overall record is really good for Nurgle in the box I think. I'll take it.”
