A bloody wacky game.

So was recently criticized (not by this coach) when I do these reports for pointing out random things that happened instead of important points. I don't agree with this as I usually point to everything as it happened (first half, second half, takeaways). I write these reports to learn because that is my learning preference, and because it's therapeutic to focus on events and trying to improve as opposed to "these dice blah, these dice good".

But I can always improve. So let's try something different for this report.

Observations pre-game:

- With riotous rookies, I felt I had an advantage. We had just as many players and I got the inducements because he skilled up his snots and bought the stilty/hopper and I dont do any of that. IMO I like my take on this for the box.

- I knew whoever got to receive would be at an advantage and I had to kick.

First half observations:

- I set up my bomber so he could throw. But that put him kind of close to the other bombers and he was vulnerable. SO, I think next time I'll deploy both bombers to make my opp target one while leaving the other one free to throw on my turn. And I'll deply them back a little.

- I was correct about the receiving team in this having a huge edge. His first turn removed 2-3 players, and it snowballed from there pretty much as far as attrition.

- I set a few players midfield, and had the rest a third of the way from the LOS. I still havent quite figured out a decent stunty defensive setup for these guys. Do you want to draw everything back? Or do you want to set up a little closer, hoping to TTM in case the opp fails a pickup or kicks real deep and doesnt have many in the backfield?

- Cannoneer on my opps bomber was pretty cool. AND that bomber either shined or failed in epic fashion.

- I set my self up to be able to block the opps ball carrier on multiple occasions with a RR ready. I kept rolling single skulls on these so I think it was the right move, but the wrong dice. My 13 skulls out of 39 dice display this consistent failure.

Opp scored after some dodges and I had I think 3 players on the pitch. So ultimately, I think I will deploty the bomber back a little more next time and see if that works out.

Second half obersavtions:

- I dont like how I handled this. I got a fairly deep kick and spent a few turns protecting the ball and moving forward. My bomber got some really good hits early, and then I again set it up too closely and it got fouled out.

- I used the vomit to prevent snotling sidestepping and it was not effective. I think it eas the right decision, just not breaking AV a lot.

- I tried forcing a move down the sideline at the top. But with a depleted team, I think this was a mistake. I maybe should have just regrouped next to my trolls and let them do their thing for a turn or 2, while pocketing the TTM or a mad dash for later. It was just tough to make that call with the bombers on the field.

- I got really lucky with a draw on the last turn. Opp outplayed me and I didnt deserve it - if we "deserve" anything in this game of dice we play.

Great opp, would def play again
