- Flings with only a chef to induce versus the new chorfs. I dont see a lot of success in this match because chorf mobility, armor, strength, and starting skills are just plain better.
First Half Thoughts:
- I had to kick. The fling AV was holding up fairly well. I took less hits because of the tackle removal.
- I think I deployed too far up to begin with. By the time it got mid to late in the half, I was able to dodge in and go for 2 die uphills.
- Chef only stole 1 RR which hurt a lot.
- Opp placed his player on the sideline when stalling and I had a shot at a surf, but failed the 3 plus RR dodge. Took another shot, 1 die block, at the very end and it worked but the opp scooped up the ball for a TD.
- Aside from deploying back more I dont think there's much else I couldve done here. I prioritised dodges over group blocks which made it somewhat of a game this time, but my failed dodges were really high.
- Blitz spoiled the OTTD, and the fun in the game, as the blitz always does :)
Second Half Thoughts:
- I used the 2 spot away tactic for piocking up the ball and it worked well. My opp was on me and I couldnt help that I failed the pickup initially.
- All 3 RRs for the chef was nice. I was hoping with a decent starting position I could at least tie.
- So once I got the ball, I had to rely on a sideline cage for a turn to protect it. I dont like that I did, but I didn't see another option and it cause issues later on. I think this is my failure though, maybe I need to move 3 players in front of the ball before attempting a pickup?
- I had a shot at a pass from the hefty. It wouoldve required the 1 die blotz to work from the catcher, but BD/Skull. There was another opportunity to just dodge through everyone and punt it in the backfield. I dont know if I made the right choices here - probably my failure.
- Trees rooted way too early, and the snake on the root was just about the nail in the coffin. But I had the presense of mind to recognize this and attempt the RR here (even though it failed).
Overall Thoughts:
- Flings need decent positioning early for TTMs and moving in general. I never got that opportunity with failed pickups and the blitz on T8.
- Failing 20/55 RR 3 plus dodges is a lot of failure, a bit too much to overcome for this match.
Great opp with the right moves - outplayed me for sure - would def play again”
