Sacrificing a grotling to ensure Nuffle's blessing certainly worked this game. Nuffle did touch the dice in favour of the Blitzkrieg.
An unholy number of pows, and removals, riddled the game.
Also, we brought a cave troll! First time we have tried this beast on the orc team (a once off on chaos team did not yield fruit) and the lump serves a purpose.
We are not sure if this is the end of the season, or if more games remain, but until then we shall enjoy Nuffle's generosity.
Learnings
1. SET UP
Not sure if this is the correct way to defend against Chaos Renegades. We tried a little anti-frenzy, but in the end what can we really do about all that S5? Just cop it on the chin and hope for the best.
Still best to set up central and withstand the pressure, I think.
2. CENTRAL HOLD
Simple tactic. Stay strong and own the middle ground, apply pressure and force a sideline.
Once the sideline is taken, asphyxiate it. Of course, this is good in theory, and requires the right blocks.
Traditional Blitzkrieg tactics of bringing mighty blow to the show also helps. We play to this kind of removal strategy, which helps with the central hold.
3. TROLL
Remember to babysit this one, and attempt 3db as a preference. Only 4 blocks this game, but 1x stun, 2x KO, 1x CAS. A good innings.
Summary
The Blitzkrieg were greedy, and made hay whilst the sun did shine. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for this team.
There is a battle to be crowned the Casualty King between Stomp du Toit (6) and der Hammer (5), but the Lord of Dash certainly belongs to our new M7 blitzer Os du Stomp who now sits on 7 TD. ”
