The last game of the season, and it was madness!
After a stunning debut by our new Troll recruit- Regen Etzebet- last game, out came the Ogre chainsaw to KILL him in T1. Highlight of the game.
Elfbreaka came out of his slumber to use his Tackle skill, claiming 4 CAS to catch up to big un brother Stomp du Toit, both finish on 7 CAS for the season.
Du Stomp flexed his new found speed to run in 3 touchdowns, making it 10 for the season.
Learnings
1. PROTECT
Three times we allowed an Ogre to base our ball carrier. The 1db solution worked both times, but it is not ideal.
Better to screen off, or tag off with linemen. On earlier turns, we should have rushed more support back, and also rushed a turn (there was a knock at the door) finishing without moving ball carrier out of base contact reach.
Summary
The Blitzkrieg finish the season well as a team, breaking the NWBL all time CAS count with 30 in a single season. They are also in the hunt for most team TD in the season.
Hunting as a pack, we are without any stand out star players, however between Elfbreaka, Stomp du Toit, and du Stomp, there is enough fire power on both offense and defence to carry us into The Cups.”
