Now with elves and witches, my mind was blown.
In truth, it would have been a nice and lucky draw for the Norse, but with OT receive and silly attrition, we were fortunate to progress in the tournament.
For dark elves, dodge fails were high, armour breaks high, and injury rolls high. This was a little backloaded, but still some stunning sacks were made.
Learnings:
1. PRESSURE THE STALL
I suppose we did this, in our own way. We got skinned up the outside like a ripe banana, and elves set up comfortably.
Instead of doing to war with them, we picked off a few here and there, fouling with pig for chip removal.
No damage caused, but ref did not seem to mind our pig, with no fouls discovered. Non event.
We even surfed a witch elf, with no result. So... foul pressure, but no strong base pressure. Ponder this.
2. SURF
T2 of 2nd half could have / should have surfed an elf. Every little bit helps. Blocks and fouls were not sticking, at that point.
3. SACKED
T5 of H2 we get sacked for first time. No re rolls were available , which made it 9% play, successful.
We thought we did not protect well enough, but I suppose this was reasonable protection, and just brilliant vision from Coach Valen to see it.
T6 we are sacked again... this time it is maybe less than 9%, around 5% perhaps. I do not know how to calculate frenzy. Stunning.
T2 of OT we are sacked for a 3rd time... How are we so bad at this game? It is 17% chance this time, but comes off.
BIGGEST MISTAKE
What was our biggest mistake this game? I think allowing the 17% (would be 38% with RR) sack in OT. This could have changed the game.
Could have made defensive line flatter, or kept ball 1 space back and out of reach.
Sometimes though, the elves will have their time in the sun.
