Rematch against the cunning Ratchester City FC, coached by the superb Arcayn.
Our fixture during the season was defined by the failed block into casualty of the Rogre.
Again, we identify Rogre as a major threat, and focus play to remove it via foul. We are successful, and the game swung in our favour.
Learnings
1. APOTHOCARY
We have Orc lino removed on T1 LOS block. The T1 blitz also removes a lino, which we 'power apo'.
Reason is, starting game 9 v 11 vs Skaven is basically game over. At least with 10 we can try to fight back.
This surprised our more experienced opponent.
** Now that I write this report in hindsight, after being knocked out of the Bourbon Cup in round #2, I can see perhaps why it is better to apo on badly hurt positionals in 1st half.
2. 1TT DEFENCE
We got lazy, and position poorly. We need to, when with full 11 players, position right on edge. Wall-to-wall carpeting, so to speak.
With 6 players, the clever Arcayn nearly scores 1TT against us, partly due to this. We are lucky not punished. Marvellous to watch, however.
Biggest mistake of game, not to be repeated.
Summary
Blitzkrieg took a battering in the first 4 turns, losing the bash war.
But we hung on, managed to bash back, and get on top. It was a lucky swing, and we certainly pulled ourselves out of the gutter.
Much to learn still. ”
